Our Incubation Program
We aim to develop working-class leaders into long-term political workers with the political and strategic clarity to build resilient organizations, implement powerful campaigns, base-build effectively, and engage in honest assessments of their practices.
Our incubation program is designed to provide training and hands-on mentorship to grassroots groups. Incubating groups operate as campaigns of A Luta Sigue until finishing the 3-year incubation period, during which they receive hands-on training and guidance including:
Political Education Curriculum: to sharpen their analysis of patriarchal racial capitalism and the historical lessons of our movement
Organizational Development: to intentionally define their purpose, long-term vision, and their membership and leadership development structures and processes
Organizing Strategy and Methodology: to learn effective base-building techniques; including organizing skills, campaign development, and building strategic and tactical alliances
Assessment and Experimentation: to engage in scientific praxis. Groups are expected to complete honest assessments of their practices grounded in their analysis, purpose vision, and their understanding of the terrain in which they operate. Through these assessments, they are expected to identify needed practice shifts to improve their work’s quality. Then, they will test their predictions in practice.
A Luta Sigue aims to facilitate connection and exchange of ideas between incubating groups, as they are encouraged to get honest, get scientific, move intentionally, practice rigor, and document and share learnings. Additionally, we will synthesize, consolidate, and publish major learnings from groups’ assessments and experiments.
